Why do I need an NDG Portal account?
The NDG Linux courses are developed and hosted by NDG, and are offered via the Cisco Networking Academy for instructor-led training and self-paced learners.
When enrolling, learners are prompted to log in or sign up for an NDG Portal account (if they have not done so previously). Learners are automatically prompted to create their NDG Portal account the first time they access the NDG Linux course content. Once they create an NDG Portal account, they will not be prompted to do so again.
This account creation is a required step for enrolling in the NDG Linux courses and is separate from signing up for a Cisco Networking Academy account. The purpose of this is account is to allow NDG to meet legal and partner obligations regarding data collection and usage of NDG materials. Your NDG Portal account also allows you to access and enroll in other NDG courses and labs.
Important: Once a Cisco Networking Academy account is linked to the NDG Portal, it is important not to change your email address in the NetAcad. There is a known issue where if the email NetAcad email is changed, this will break the integration of the two systems. Unfortunately this is outside the control of NDG, and there are limited options to recover functionality if this occurs.
Important: Do not attempt to link multiple Cisco Networking Academy accounts to a single NDG Portal account. This will break the integration between the systems for one or both of the accounts, and is likely to cause NDG Linux courses to stop functioning correctly.
